European Prize of the Villa Lessing 2024

Invitation to apply:
The Villa Lessing – Liberal Foundation Saar is the Liberal Foundation of the Saarland. The aim of the foundation is the promotion of democratic and civil education, the promotion of science, research and culture on a liberal basis, as well as the furthering of international communication and European unification. Residence of the foundation is the Villa Lessing in Saarbrücken.

We hereby invite you to compete for the “European Prize of the Villa Lessing 2024”.

Students from the business section and law section of the Europa-Institut, Saarland University whose master thesis deals with the development of economics and law in Europe, can apply. The thesis should deal with

the strengthening of the liberty and competition in Europe,
European integration on a liberal basis,
the strengthening of the European civil society and the position of the citizen during the European unification,
the strengthening of the development of the European economy on a liberal basis.

The up to three awards have a value of 1.500 Euro respectively.

Europa-Preis 2023 // Preisverleihung // 01.07.2024 in der Villa Lessing

Festvortrag: „Forschung & Lehre im europäischen Kontext“

Auch für das Studienjahr 2023 hat die Villa Lessing – Liberale Stiftung Saar für die Absolventen des Europa-Instituts der Universität des Saarlandes den „Europa-Preis der Villa Lessing“ ausgelobt.

Der Förderpreis wird alljährlich an bis zu vier Studierende der Sektionen Rechtswissenschaft und Wirtschaftswissenschaft des Europa-Instituts der Universität des Saarlandes verliehen, die sich in ihrer Abschlussarbeit mit den Entwicklungen des Rechts und der Wirtschaft Europas befassen. Prämiert werden sollen Arbeiten bei denen ein Bezug auf Europa, auf den Liberalismus und eine Relevanz zur Praxis besteht sowie die Kriterien der Ausschreibung Berücksichtigung finden.

Die Entscheidung liegt bei einer Jury, der die Direktoren der jeweiligen Sektionen des Europa-Instituts, der Chefredakteur der Saarbrücker Zeitung, Moritz Körner MdEP sowie die Villa Lessing angehören.

Die Förderpreise pro Jahr werden in Höhe von jeweils 1.500,- € ausgelobt.

Der Europa-Preis wurde 2010 ins Leben gerufen.
